Drinking water supply of settlements in Valea Ierului (Romania)

Having more than 15 years experience in the field of water solutions, we are proud of the significant and marketable domestic and international project portfolio of our companies and the vast experience of their professional experts.

In order to solve the regional water supply of Valea Ierului in Bihor region, Romania, several national and European Union-funded projects have already been implemented. Our company participated in drinking water research the team worked on behalf of Konsent SA in Iași in the “Pregătirea aplicației de finanțare și a documentațiilor de atribuire pentru proiectul regional de dezvoltare a infrastructurii de apă și apă uzată din zona de nord vest a județului Bihor în perioada 2014 – 2020” project launched in the autumn of 2020.

One of the aims of the project was to estimate the water supply capacity of the Pleistocene strata to ensure the drinking water supply of Valea Lui Mihai and Marghita-Viișoara. To accomplish this task, we established two experimental water bases in the villages of Cherechiu and Viișoara. One production well and three observation wells were built in each settlement.

The location and depth of the wells were clarified by geophysical measurements in the light of the existing literature data. Electrical resistivity tomography was used to identify sand and gravel layers with higher resistance.

Before the commencement of drilling, our company made the authorization documentation of the construction of water wells.

The wells operate with a yield of 3.33 l / s in Kiskereki, and 5.1 l / s in Érszőllős.

During the 45-day trial run, pump tests of various durations and yields were performed to calculate the hydraulic parameters of the filtered layers. These became the input parameters of the hydrodynamic model built on the two regions. With the help of the models, the characteristics of the groundwater flow and the recharge of the wells were simulated, and the protective areas of the test sites were determined.
